2023 WWC: Two-game ban for James after red card against Super Falcons

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has penalized England forward Lauren James with a two-game suspension for receiving a red card against Nigeria.
The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup match saw the 21-year-old dismissed for stamping on Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie.
England won 4-2 on penalties to get to the quarterfinals.
She will miss the semifinal if England advances because of the obligatory one-game suspension that came with the punishment, which FIFA doubled.
On Saturday, the Lionesses will play Colombia in the quarterfinals.
James has so far contributed three assists and three goals to the contest.
