AFCON 2023: Yusuf to miss Super Eagles vs Cote d’Ivoire clash
Owing to an injury, Alhassan Yusuf is anticipated to miss Nigeria’s Group B match against the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire.
It has been discovered that Yusuf suffered a thigh injury during Sunday’s 1-1 tie between Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria.
Though not serious, the injury should not prevent him from playing in the Super Eagles’ final group match against Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
Due to the setback, the 23-year-old was unable to workout on Monday or Tuesday.
In midfield, head coach Jose Peseiro has a variety of choices.
There are four players up for selection: Joe Aribo, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
