Africa Games 2023: Ghana set up epic clash with Falconets in women’s final
In the African Games 2023 women’s football final, host Ghana will play fierce rival Nigeria.
In an exciting semifinal match on Monday night, Ghana defeated Senegal 3-1 to advance to play Nigeria.
Tracy Twum and Ophelia Amponsah gave the home team two goals in the first half.
After the interval, the Senegalese pulled one back, but Amponsah scored once more to give Ghana a two-goal lead.
In the first semi-final, Nigeria’s Falconets, the holders, defeated Uganda 2-0.
The majority of the game was played in deadlock until Judith Adaobi Okah of Nigeria broke it in the 74th minute.
One minute remaining in regulation time, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu’s second goal ensured victory for Chris Danjuma’s team.
Nigeria and Ghana will fight for the gold medal at Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday
