Amidst Internal strife, APC Ward Chairmen in Ifelodun Local Government suspend Chairman Lateef Kadir



The Ward Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state have suspended the Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Lateef Kadir.

This decision was announced during the 4th APC Ifelodun local government peace and unity meeting held at the LG Secretariat in Share.

Just Event Online TV reports , during the meeting, Alhaji Fatai Mustapha, the Chairman of APC Idofian Ward 2, delivered a scathing assessment of the current state of the party in their locality. He expressed concerns about the lack of synergy between party leaders and followers and identified the leadership of Alhaji Lateef Kadir as a major source of the problem.

Alhaji Lateef Kadir was accused of lacking integrity in handling party finances and demonstrating a lack of good leadership qualities, which have led to disharmony among party members. Furthermore, there were allegations of several conditional breaches associated with his leadership.

“We’ve submitted a copy of a letter outlining our concerns to the deputy governor of Kwara state, the state Chairman of the party, and the TIC Chairman of Ifelodun local government,” Alhaji Fatai Lawal declared.

The Ifelodun Local Government consists of 18 wards, and during the meeting, 16 of these wards were represented as they signed a communiqué in support of the suspension.

Shortly after Alhaji Fatai Mustapha’s speech, some party members voiced their dissatisfaction and staged a protest, demanding the resignation of Alhaji Lateef Kadir as the party Chairman in the local government.

Adding to the growing rift, the Elder Statesmen Stakeholders Forum affirmed the suspension with a communique of their own, highlighting the severity of the situation within the local APC chapter.
The meeting was attended by Chairman Kwara Stats house of Assembly commission , Mr Femi Yusuf, former SSA on community intervention to Kwara Gov , Mr Kayode Oyin Zubair , Ifelodun LGA, TIC Local Government executives among others


As at the time of filing this report effort to reach Mr Lateef Kadir proved abortive
