Newscrescent reports that, the commander urged parents, guides, and traditional leaders to warn their followers, children, and wards to quit harming security personnel who take risks to protect them.

The commander also gave the example of a defendant who was resisting arrest attacking one of the Amotekun corps employees with a farm tool.

“Despite having a gun, the official who was attacked didn’t shoot the man, who was subsequently taken into custody.

“Despite losing a lot of blood, the injured officer was saved at the Trauma Center of the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital in Ondo City.

“It’s terrible that while banditry is no longer a problem in our state, the people we are tasked with protecting are now attacking us.

“There was a situation where two groups were fighting, and we went to make things right. The two groups turned to face us when they saw us and began firing while hurling stones at us. In the process, we lost one of our soldiers.

“We avoided engaging them in a gunfight throughout the entire affair. Some of them were taken into custody by us.

“It’s past time for our community leaders, traditional leaders, parents, and mentors to inform their followers that we are a security organization guarding them through legal and illegal means.
