Arteta to sign Real Madrid star for Arsenal

Due to his history of injuries over the previous year, Mendy has surfaced as a potential alternative, with Real Madrid keen to transfer the Frenchman.

The Los Blancos are willing to trade Mendy for roughly £17.5 million, which would fall inside Arteta’s summer transfer budget, according to Daily Mirror.

Arteta is planning a defensive reshuffle this summer transfer window, with Oleksandr Zinchenko potentially moved into midfield, with Mendy a possible direct replacement for the Ukraine international at left-back.

Kieran Tierney has been linked with a move away from Arsenal after growing frustrated with his role as Zinchenko’s deputy this season.
