Bauchi accountant, two sons die in auto crash

Yakubu Shehu Sakwaa, an accountant employed with the Bauchi State Treasury Board, along with two of his daughters perished in a single-vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon in the Zaki Local Government Area of the State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) state sector has not yet confirmed the accident, but a source in Azare told Daily Post that the deceased Sakwaa, who was working for the Bauchi State Head of Civil Service at the time of his death, and the two children perished there and then.
Before the tragic accident, it was reported that the deceased was en route to his hamlet of Sakwaa in the Zaki LGA to attend a family event with his children.
The automobile the deceased were traveling in is alleged to have gone off the road after one of its tires ruptured, collided with a large tree next to the road, and was nearly split in half by the force of the incident.
The source claims that after a funeral prayer was given for the deceased government accountant and his children, they were later buried in their village on Saturday in accordance with Islamic customs.
The representative of the Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, two permanent secretaries in the state civil service, and three directors from his office were present during the burial prayers for the late Sakwaa and his children.
