Boat capsizes in Kogi, killing traders

After a speed boat carrying traders overturned on the River Niger at Bagana in the Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday, December 18, scores of passengers are presumed dead.
The event reportedly took place about 9:12 p.m. Most of the victims, who were traders and residents of Umaisha town, he claimed, were on their way home from a nearby market in Bagana when they were killed.
While efforts are being undertaken to recover others, some of the deceased people’s remains have been found.
