BREAKING: FG rejects EU mission report on 2023 polls, says findings poorly-done desk job

The final report of the European Union (EU) election observation team in Nigeria about the 2023 elections was rejected by the federal government.

The EU mission’s report on the general election was given in Abuja on Tuesday.

The assessment, according to the chief observer, Barry Andrews, was based on an examination of Nigeria’s adherence to its regional and international commitments to hold democratic elections.

According to the observation team, the elections revealed ingrained systemic flaws that needed to be fixed.

On the other hand, the federal government referred to the EU mission report as a shoddy desk job in a statement released on Sunday by Dele Alake, special advisor to the president on special tasks, communications, and strategy.
