Breaking: Obaseki pays December salary and pensions Ahead of Christmas season

December salaries and pensions for state employees and retirees were paid by Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State.
Workers and pensioners received their salaries and pensions on Friday, December 16, 2022, according to a statement from Crusoe Osagie, the governor of Edo State’s special adviser on media projects. This was done in accordance with the administration’s policy of paying workers and pensions as and when they are due.
He stated, “His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of the State of Edo, has paid the salaries and pensions of workers and pensioners in the State for the Month of December 2022.
Our custom is to pay employees on or before the 26th of every month. However, we are aware that workers in December would want to shop early in anticipation of the holiday festivities. To make this happen, the governor approved paying the salaries in advance.
He pointed out that the state government placed a high priority on workers’ welfare and said that comprehensive reforms made Edo the most alluring public employer in Nigeria.
