BREAKING: Supreme Court upholds Fintiri’s election
Aisha Dahiru, also known as Binani, the All Progressives Congress’ candidate for governor of Adamawa State, filed an appeal, but it was denied by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The appeal was deemed without merit by the five-member panel chaired by John Okoro.
The court also denounced the actions of Hudu Ari, the state’s former resident electoral commissioner, who had earlier pronounced Binani the victor of the contest, branding them as unlawful and careless.
Okoro pointed out that the Returning Officer, not the REC, has the sole authority to declare the results of an election.
