Former presidential aide Reno Omokri claims that President Muhammadu Buhari’s congratulations to Morocco led to their defeat versus France.

In a statement issued by Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, congratulated the Moroccan national football team for eliminating the Portuguese squad and moving on to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 semifinals.

He added that the Atlas Lions had the ability to win the competition.

The former presidential advisor claimed Buhari had no right to congratulate Morocco before their match against France.

Omokri implied that the African squad would suffer as a result of Buhari’s congratulations.

Following Morocco’s failure to advance to the finals after a crushing loss to France, Tableshaker referred to their setback as the “Buhari Effect” in a series of tweets.
