Cut down composition of Senate, Reps – Shekarau tells Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has received advice from Kano Central Senator Ibrahim Shekarau on how to cut the expense of government.

Shekarau recommended Tinubu to reduce the number of members in the Senate and House of Representatives in order to lower the expense of government.

Shekarau claimed that Nigeria does not require both chambers to be led by Tinubu in an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night.

We don’t need the two chambers and the two residences, according to Shekarau.

“The nation is paying a price. I agree that participation is key to a healthy democracy, but given how things stand right now, there are almost 500 legislators around the country, and I don’t believe we actually require that many right now.
