Excitement Builds as CAF Sets AFCON 2025 Draw Date

Mark your calendars, football fans! The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the preliminary round draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will take place on Tuesday, February 20th, in Cairo, Egypt.
Eight hopeful nations, ranked lowest in the FIFA rankings, will vie for their chance to join the 44 qualified teams in the group stage. These include Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia, and Eswatini.
The draw kicks off at 2pm local time, setting the stage for thrilling home-and-away matches scheduled between March 18th and 26th, 2024. The four victors from this preliminary round will progress to the group stage, joining the fight for glory in Morocco, which will host the 24-team finals in the summer of 2025.
