EXPOSED: How KWSG Played politics on Kwara students, reneged on free transportation promise

The newest announcement of KWSG over the students that boarded to their various places of study at Northern part of the country is nothing but appalling, tension and uncalled for.

According to the public announcement of KWSG over the aforementioned students which firstly appeared as a favor and magnanimous gesture to the students’ welfarism but later resulted to endangered, panic and misappropriation for the students, as the KWSG reneged her promise on the movement.

In respect to the claimed assistance for the kwara State students by provided the over 50 buses for them in which this appeared as blatant lie and ungodly. It was very apparently that state government intended to buy the interest of the students on a certain goals by making such a move which had never happened before.

It was very crystal clear that, the buses KWSG provided are not more than 20 (if up to that), and this has caused inconvenience, congestion and dissatisfaction for most of the students while avert them to travel with many luggage. And it is very savvy that the students need to travel with their luggage as much as they could hold them, after the long fruitless holiday caused by 8 months strike.

As at this moment, some students are still on the way to their various destination while stuck on the road by the result of inability of the buses provided for them, and this is detriment to the lives of our brothers and sisters. With no reiteration, it is so manifest that the bad condition of the current state of insecurities in this country is alarming everyday, by which the perpetual actions of kidnappers, bandits and bad road in view to mention can’t be underrated.

However, this has emanated tension, ambush and unrest to the lives of the students’ and parents.
It was also gathered that, some students were paid the sum of (80 thousands Naira) for two drivers in their respective buses, which was contributed within themselves from the money their parents gave them from home, when the drivers obstinate not to further the journey if their money couldn’t complete (280,000) and (140,000) each before they could embark, after the 200,000 being paid to them by KWSG. Eventually the drivers collected additional (80,000) while (40,000) per bus.

According to the eyes witness, this issues was engulfed on the students who are paving their way to Federal University Dutse, Jigawa state. This showed up as a result of lack proactive government by displaying nonchalant disposition towards the students welfarism.

Conclusively, Kwara State Government should endeavor not to make such a move again, if the adequate provisions are not in stable for the kwarans, especially students that are studying outside the state.
