FG Launches PCNG Portal For Nigerian Youth To Apply For Tricycles

The Federal Government of Nigeria Monday,7 October 2024 announced the official opening of the portal for Nigerian youth to apply for Compressed Natural Gas CNG tricycles as part of its commitment to cohesion the effect of the high price of PMS.

The Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande during the Launching of the CNG Portal, an innovative platform for the Youth to apply for CNG Tricycles on Monday in Abuja says all Nigeria have equal opportunity in the transport sector to use.

According to him, following the hugely successful launch of the 2,000 CNG Tricycles for the informal youth, which took place on 1st October 2024; the Ministry has designed a Youth Portal specifically intended to create opportunities for a greater number of youth to participate in the process.

“Through the portal, youth anywhere from across Nigeria can sign up to be merged with aggregators or owners who work directly with the PiCNG program; while beginning to become owners themselves.

“In simple terms, what we aim to achieve with the youth portal we are about to launch is to build transparency around enlisting youth into the Presidential CNG Initiative in the transportation sector. What this means is that we are opening the process, and any young person willing and ready to take advantage of the program can participate.

“This is consistent with the aspiration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who desires that all government programs and initiatives of government offer the same level of opportunity to everyone, either rich or poor, low or high.

“As I have always said, no young person in this country would need to know any godfather to benefit from the programs of the Ministry of Youth Development. The youth portal we are launching today again reconfirms that promise of ensuring equal access to all our initiatives and programs.”

I, therefore, use this opportunity to call on all youth who work within the commercial transportation sector, or those who have an interest in joining the sector to enlist for the benefits provided through the Presidential Initiative on CNG as a significant component of the palliative program of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He urged Nigerian Youths to follow instructions strictly on the website for admissibility.

Minister, Olawande said that in launching the portal, the Nigerians have just two ways of getting to the portal which are www.youth.ng and www.pci.gov.ng/tricycle.

Comrade Olawande however, calls on Nigerian youths to embrace the various government initiatives, stressing that the future of the country lies in the hands of its youth.

In his remarks, the Program Director and chief executive of PCNG Mr Micheal Oluwagbemi said the initiative enabled the youth to take advantage of the tricycles.

The director who was represented by Tosin Coker CNG is the future of Nigeria just like the youth is the future of this country.

We are doing something for the betterment of Nigeria and empowering Nigerian Youth.

He thanked the Ministry for the initiative and urged all Nigeria to give their best toward the betterment of Nigeria.

On his own, President of National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association NACTOMORAS Alhaji Sani Hassan assured the total commitment to mobilize and educate their members, to make use of CNG tricycles for the good of Nigerians.

According to him, we are ready to work with the ministry 100% toward the success of the programs and the advancement of Nigerians
