FG says $360m released for Ogoni clean-up

According to the Federal Government, $360 million has been spent on cleaning up the Niger Delta’s polluted Ogoni territory.
This was recently revealed by the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project Coordinator, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, after a four-day visit of the project sites that had been cleaned up in the Ogoni local governments of River State.
He claimed that attempts to rebuild the Ogoni people’s way of life after oil spills have begun to show results.
“Restoring the livelihoods of the populace is another mandate. I am aware that about $360,000,000.00 has been released by the trustees. That sum is still available. He said, “We’re still paying the contractors.
