Infantino condemned the incident on social media, calling it “unacceptable” and emphasizing player safety.
He urged authorities to punish those responsible and ensure such violence has no place in football or society.
The incident involved Fenerbahce celebrating a win when Trabzonspor fans stormed the field, leading to clashes with players.
Following Fenerbahce’s 3-2 victory, a group of Trabzonspor fans invaded the field, leading to altercations between players from both teams, including Michy Batshuayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Jayden Oosterwolde.
