Gov, Adeleke Pinned With Strong Allegations Over SURE-P Fund

The governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke, is the target of a serious accusation from the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the APC state chapter chairman for Osun, said that Governor Adeleke had misappropriated the SURP-P Fund for the local government and other social projects.

He claimed that it was the money Governor Adeleke used to buy food for the PDP (the ruling party in Osun state) leaders and members.

The APC also claimed that each local government council received N13,650,000 to buy Christmas and New Year presents for party supporters, including the local council development areas and area offices.

This was stated in a letter sent out by the coordinating director of the ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs on Friday, December 16.

According to additional charges by the APC, which were confirmed by the Nigerian Tribune, the cost of the rice was N13,440,000.00, and the money needed to convey it to the local government council was N210,000.

Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, responded to the accusations by refuting them and maintaining that the state’s SURE-P Fund is still in place.

While maintaining that the rice distribution is real and was purely a “non-partisan” gesture, he said that the Sure-P fund is still secure in the local government account.
