Governor Yahaya Bello Reveals He Will Deal With Anybody Who Promotes Violence

He issued the warning when Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police, paid him a visit yesterday at the Government House in Lokoja.

He reaffirmed that his administration is prepared to thwart attempts by some desperate politicians to drag the state back to the unrest of the years prior to 2015 under the cover of conducting political maneuvers.

The governor emphasized that his administration would not permit insecurity to be smuggled into Kogi through the “boot of politics” and claimed that a credible intelligence report available to the state government had revealed that certain political figures’ actions could shorten the state’s current period of peace.

The governor claimed that when he took office in 2016, he was inaugurated into a violent state where bank robberies, kidnappings, robberies, and herders/farmers clashes were commonplace. He claimed that since then, he has been able to take on insecurity head-on, and the state is now regarded as one of the peaceful states in the nation.
