Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, has said that he is eager to resume his official responsibilities in the state as soon as his medical team gives him the all-clear.

The governor, who has been away on medical leave for some time, expressed his gratitude for the remarkable outpouring of support from the public.

According to a letter he submitted to the Ondo State House of Assembly, Akeredolu, who left for a 21-day medical leave overseas a few days ago, is slated to return home on July 6th, 2023 (today).Akeredolu claimed in a statement by his information commissioner, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, that the constant invocation of prayers and well wishes for his full recovery had been acting as a consoling salve and an energizing tonic.

As he continues his rehabilitation and works to regain good health, he also conveyed his sincere gratitude to the state’s residents for their persistent prayers and well wishes.

“The gestures have not only strengthened his resolve to stand on his feet once more, but have also served as a driving force for him to continue serving the people, particularly the esteemed residents of Ondo State,” he claimed.He also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his colleagues in the State House of Assembly, party leaders, and members of his team.

“This unheard-of outpouring of sincere love and support has been a soother and a revitalizing elixir supporting the amiable Governor’s resolve to stand on his own two feet and, more importantly, to continue serving the people, especially the good people of Ondo State.

The Governor expresses gratitude to all party leaders, his brother governors, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and members of his team for their support.

He is in high spirits and expects to join the people of the State as soon as his doctors consider it expedient.”
