Igbos Need The Fulani And We Want Them To Be Permanent Residents Of Nigeria -Ezeife Emeka

President of Igbo Elders Consultative Forum, and former Governor of Anambra state, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has stated that the Igbo people are not against the existence of Fulani people in Nigeria.

Ezeife made his position known while speaking to Punch Newspaper in an exclusive interview. He said he likes the strategic reasoning of the Fulanis.

According to him, Igbo people need the Fulani more than the Fulani need them and they would always want the Fulani to be permanent residents of Nigeria.

“We need the Fulani more than they need us—like their strategic thinking. And we want them to be permanent residents of Nigeria” he told punchng.com.

Speaking further, the Ezeife said people should perish the notion that Fulani people come from Mali.”

“This idea of taking them as people who came from Mali is not right; we want them integrated into Nigeria, but not on the basis of being born to rule.”
