I’ll protect Nigeria and prevent its demise – Peter Obi

In order to create jobs, Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, LP, pledged to resurrect the economy and put an end to hunger and insecurity if Nigerians choose him in the presidential election held next year.

Obi expressed confidence that a functioning steel project will result in the employment of millions of unemployed youths, reduce crime, and boost economic prosperity when he made the pledge during his presidential rally on Tuesday in Lokoja.

Obi pledged that his administration will protect the nation from criminals, prevent it from collapsing, and bring its residents together to restore it to the one family it once was.

Obi asserts that a Labour Party administration will make sure that the rule of law and human rights are deeply ingrained, resulting in a situation in which no one will be persecuted.

In order to improve workers’ morale and productivity, the LP candidate said that his government will work in concert with state governments to pay back arrears on their minimum wage and other benefits.

Kogi State was characterized by Obi as a geopolitical entity that could provide for its own needs, process its agricultural products for export, eradicate all but the most extreme forms of poverty, and lift the state to a position of wealth.

If elected, he reaffirmed his pledge to turn Nigeria from a consumption to a production nation.

Sen. Ahmed Datti, Sen. Obi’s running mate, urged the audience to vote for the Labour Party and collect their PVCs in his speech, promising the crowd that “only the party can alter the narrative, characterised by, hunger, poverty among other negative events in the country.

If we are elected to power the following year and fail, keep our promises and hold us accountable for our deeds, he said.

“We will lift the nation out of poverty and into prosperity, put an end to the killing and begin the mending,” he declared.

Barr. Julius Agure, the party’s national chairman, also urged voters to support the party, promising that “LP is what Nigeria needs to solve her numerous social, economic, and political problems.”

Party members and supporters from the state’s 21 Local Government Areas attended the rally.
