Ilorin Golf Club shuts down to honour late golfer, Laaro Buhari

The Ilorin Golf Club will be closed on Friday to honour a distinguished member of the Club and a community leader, the 11th Balogun Gambari of ilorin, Alh. Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari Gambari, who passed away on Friday, last week.
A statement issued to sportswriters in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital by the Secretary of the Ilorin Golf Club, Gomina james, said the decision was taken to pay last respect to the repose of the soul of the late golf player and community leader in the ilorin Emirate.
“ We regret to inform you that the Ilorin Golf Club course will be entirely closed on Friday, May 17th, 2024. This decision is made to honor the memory of a distinguished member and a significant figure in our community, the 11th Balogun Gambari of ilorin, Alh. Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari Gambari, who passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2024”, the statement said.
It encouraged all members of the Club to attend and pay their respects to the late Balogun Gambari of Ilorin who has been a part of the club since its inception.
The statement therefore apologized for any inconvenience the closure may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all members during this mourning period.
