INEC committed to successful elections come 2023: Mahmood Yakubu
The chairman of independent national electoral commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakub says the commission is ready to deliver a successful general election come 2023.
The INEC boss who was represented by the national commissioner Sam Olumekun at the retreat for resident electoral commissioners and administrative secretaries held in lagos.
He said the retreat was an opportunity to not only bring the RECs up-to-date about the preparations, procedures and requirements for a successful election but also to get the commitment of the Administrative Secretaries towards attaining the highest level of efficiency in implementing the strategies outlined for a successful 2023 general election.
He further added that INEC’s allegiance is to Nigeria and its loyalty is to Nigerians who want free, fair, credible and verifiable elections, he however warn all staff of the commission to be neutral and professional in their conducts during the forthcoming election.
