JAMB Opens Direct Entry Registration for 2024 Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun accepting applications for Direct Entry (DE) admission to Nigerian universities. The registration process, which started on February 28th, 2024, and closes on March 28th, 2024, is open to both Nigerian and international candidates seeking admission through this route.
JAMB emphasizes its commitment to fair treatment regardless of an applicant’s status. However, the board warns that it will not process applications from institutions that have refused to verify candidates’ A-level certificates from previous years.
To ensure a smooth application process, JAMB requires:
Uploaded qualifications: Applicants must upload their A-level certificates, O-level results, and DE registration template at the time of application.
Verification of A-level results: Admission for DE candidates is contingent on the verification of their A-level results by the awarding institutions through the JAMB platform.
Awaiting A-level results: Candidates awaiting A-level results from programs like IJMB, JUPEB, or NABTEB must upload their admission letters and registration templates.
Pre-2018 Cambridge certificates: Applicants holding Cambridge certificates from before 2018 must contact Cambridge directly for verification.
Furthermore, JAMB allows candidates who initially registered for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to switch to DE, but only if their A-level results were unavailable at the time of UTME registration and they had indicated that they were awaiting these results.
This information session ensures informed decision-making and a smooth registration process for all DE applicants seeking admission to Nigerian universities through JAMB in 2024.
