JUST IN: CAF delists Nigeria, Libya AFCON qualifier amidst controversy

The ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualification between the Nigerian Super Eagles and the Libyan Mediterranean Knights has been delisted by the Confederation of African Football.
The match was originally slated to begin at 8 p.m. in Libya following Friday’s first leg at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
In the final minute of play, the Super Eagles defeated the Mediterranean Knights by a single goal.
But when the Super Eagles players and officials described their more than 14-hour agony at the Libyan airport that forced them to return home, the return leg has been met with controversy.
Meanwhile, CAF said it had launched an investigation into the incident after the Libya Football Federation alleged sabotage and threatened legal action against Nigeria.
The African football body further updated games that would be played on Tuesday without including the Libya versus Nigeria game on its X handle.
