JUST IN: Cristiano Ronaldo agrees £172m deal with new club
According to Marca, Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia have reached an astounding agreement on a £172.9 million per year contract.
The 37-year-old’s contract with Manchester United was terminated earlier this month, making him a free agent.
After an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he made several contentious claims, Ronaldo severed his relationship with United.
For the first time in his career, the Portugal captain will now compete outside of Europe.
According to reports, Ronaldo and Al Nassr have agreed to a two and a half year contract paying a staggering £172.9 million annually.
He will play through the agreement until he turns 40.
However, reports in Spain today claim the “dizzying sums” have been negotiated. Sources close to the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar insist no deal has been inked and that Ronaldo is still concentrating on the World Cup with his country.
