JUST IN: FG extended Eid-El-Fitr Public Holiday
The Eid-El-Fitr public holiday in Nigeria has been extended by the Federal Government to Thursday, April 11, 2024.
The Honorable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, made the announcement.
Remember how the Sultan of Sokoto declared Wednesday to be Eid-el-Fitri on Sunday despite the minister’s declaration on Tuesday and Wednesday being public holidays due to the lack of moon sighting.
Warm congratulations were given by Dr. Ojo to the Muslim community for finishing their month-long spiritual journey. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was reaffirmed in his unshakable commitment to establishing a safe and prosperous Nigeria where all citizens can succeed.
The Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, signed a statement stating that the extra public holiday provides a chance for people and families nationwide.
