Usman Baba Alkali, the inspector general of police (IGP), has requested that Mohammed Barde, the commissioner of police in Adamawa, leave the region.

The IGP commanded Etim Equa, the commissioner of police in Gombe, to leave right away for Adamawa in order to secure the state’s elections.

Police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi made the declaration on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing the media.

Following the announcement of Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the victor of the governorship race in Adamawa, there have been requests for Barde to be relocated from the state.

Under Barde’s command, resident electoral commissioner (REC) Hudu Yunusa-Ari of the Independent National Commission (INEC) declared Binani the election’s victor on Sunday.
