JUST IN: Lagos doctor, Olaleye, bags life imprisonment for rape

Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday by the Lagos State Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence sitting in Ikeja for defiling his wife’s niece.

He was sentenced by Judge Rahman Oshodi after he found him guilty of defiling and penetrating a 15-year-old girl sexually.

The judge determined that all of the evidence presented to the court supported the victim’s account and that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Olaleye was charged with two counts that the Lagos State Government had brought against him, which included defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece.

On November 30, 2022, the prisoner was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea to the offenses.

The court was informed by Dr. Babajide Martins, the Director of Public Prosecutions, that Olaleye had committed the offenses at some point between February 2020 and November 2021.

According to him, the crime was committed at 17 Layi Ogunbambi Close in Maryland, Lagos State.

Olaleye was charged with engaging in illicit sexual relations with his wife’s 15-year-old niece.

Additionally, he was charged with forcing his penis into the teenager’s mouth in order to sexually attack her.

The offenses violated Sections 137 and 261 of Lagos State’s 2015 criminal code, according to the prosecution.

After he entered a not guilty plea, Justice Oshodi granted him N50 million in bail, with two sureties who both had to be property owners in Lagos State.

In addition, the judge mandated that the two sureties furnish proof of their tax payments to the Lagos state government during the previous three years.

Olaleye was further ordered by Justice Oshodi to turn up his original land property documents and international passport, including his British passport, to the court registrar.

Aderemi Olaleye, the convict’s wife, testified in court during the trial that her husband had been assaulting her niece sexually while she was staying with them.

In her testimony, she stated that the offender had initially given the victim access to porn and oral sex, as well as releasing sperm into her mouth.

According to her, it began in March 2020 and ran until July 2021.

The girl admitted to a relative and their driver that the doctor had been having an affair with her, and the witness informed Justice Oshodi that the doctor had threatened to murder both her and her if she told anyone.

The complainant, a mother of two, stated under oath that she had been sexually abusing Femi since March 2020 and that he had first exposed her to pornography before moving on to oral sex with her in locations throughout the house where cameras are not present. This was revealed on November 27, 2021, according to my second cousin.
