JUST IN: Sanwo-Olu reduces Lagos buses fare by 50%
The governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has proposed palliatives to lessen the impact of the elimination of fuel subsidies.
According to Sanwo-Olu, bus rates in Lagos will be cut by 50% starting on Wednesday.
He also mentioned a 25% reduction in yellow bus fares, which the Parks Management Committee will publicly announce.
Jubril Gawat, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media, announced them on Twitter.
He wrote: “FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has announced Palliatives to cushion the effect of the Fuel subsidy removal:
“- 50% reduction on Lagos Buses from Wednesday.
“- 25% reduction in Yellow buses fees which will be announced officially by their body.”
