Kano APC counter Ganduje’s purported suspension, sacks Ward leaders

The state working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has taken harsh action against certain leaders of the Ward Party who had suspended Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman.

It was reported that Ganduje had been suspended by the APC in the Ganduje ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government; however, the party’s local government authorities swiftly overturned the suspension and fired those responsible.

Inusa Dawanau, the chairman of the APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government, said newsmen that those responsible for the National Chairman’s suspension were exposed for their anti-party activities and their meeting minutes with the opposition.

The APC Ward APC leaders were suspended, and the Party’s state working committee announced that the offenders would be sanctioned for six months and that a special investigative panel would be established to confirm many accusations made against them.

According to Abdullahi Abbas, the Party’s chairman in Kano, the decisions made by the LG Party Leaders have since been implemented.

“We have documentation of discussions between the individuals who suspended the National Chairman and state government representatives. They are currently suspended and will be sanctioned for six months by the state working committee.

However, Halliru Gwanjo, one of the party men accused of bribery against Ganduje, claimed that the reason they chose to suspend him from the party was because of the bribery accusations made against him by the Kano State government.
