Kwara Central: Senator Mustapha Begins Conversion of 29 Hand Pump Boreholes to ultramodern motorised Solar-powered system
The Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Saliu Mustapha is set to commence the conversion of 29 hand pump boreholes to solar-powered across rural areas in his constituency.
The Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Abdulkadir Tunde, who disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, stated that the project aims to ensure a steady water supply for residents, particularly in communities where access to clean water has been a persistent challenge.
He noted that the project is part of Senator Mustapha’s efforts to address water scarcity caused largely by an unstable power supply and improve the quality of life for the people of Kwara Central.
According to him, “These solar-powered boreholes will provide a more reliable and sustainable solution to water access and it will reduce dependence on electricity supply.
The conversion will also ease the physical burden on residents, who have often experienced stress and even chest pain from the manual effort required to operate hand pump boreholes.”
Tunde added that Senator Mustapha remains committed to grassroots development and improving the well-being of his constituents.
While speaking on the development, Imam Ali Olayinka, the Imam of Ita Mogaji, Ita Adu in Ilorin east local government of Kwara State, commended the Kwara Central Senator for facilitating the conversion of hand pump borehole, admitting the Senator has brought memorable dividends of democracy.
He said, “We are thankful to our Senator for this conversion, because we’ve been suffering for water, especially our wives who use the hand pump borehole. A lot of them complained about chest pain anytime they used the hand pump borehole. But now that it has been converted to a motorized borehole, life has become easier for us. Our wives no longer have to exert themselves, and we now have consistent access to clean water. This is a great relief and we appreciate our Senator for bringing this solution to our community.
Similarly, Alhaja Aishat Iyabo from Ode Lawule, Isale Banni in Ilorin west local government praised the Kwara lawmaker for doing it differently, she noted that the Senator has prioritized the wellbeing of his constituents since he assumed office.
According to her, “We are really grateful to Senator Saliu Mustapha for this conversion, using hand pump has been challenging for us and now that we have this, everything will go smoothly. we thank you distinguished Senator for this timely gesture, it is highly appreciated, I pray that God will grant you the zeal to keep doing more to the entire senatorial district”
