Kwara North Agenda 2027: Moro LG Aspiration Must be given due attention

The Moro Agenda team, representing various wards across all political party, convened today to address critical issues surrounding the 2027 elections. After thorough deliberations, the team unanimously agreed that Moro has borne an undue burden in supporting all other four local governments of Kwara North within their senatorial and federal constituency.

According to Hon. Kolawole Pasca, Coordinator of the Moro Agenda, historically, since the inception of the 4th Republic in 1999, other Local Governments within the Kwara North Senatorial District have held Federal House of Representatives and Senatorial seats. This persistent imbalance has resulted in Moro Communities being marginalized in elective offices, human capital development, infrastructural advancement, and federal appointments.

He declared that Moro Communities have suffered long enough. “It’s time for us to reclaim our rightful place in the federal legislature and key appointments,” he stated. “We demand a more equitable distribution of opportunities and resources within Kwara North Senatorial District, ensuring that every community has a fair voice in political decision-making.”

Comrade Hanafi Abdulgafar Dare Asejere, Local Government Secretary of the Moro Agenda Forum, emphasized the urgent need for fairness and representation. “Five Local Governments constitute Kwara North Senatorial District, with Patigi, Moro, Edu, Kaima, and Baruten having enjoyed significant National Assembly benefits. It’s high time Moro is recognized and treated fairly, ensuring our representation in the National Assembly by 2027.”

The Moro Agenda mission is dedicated to ensuring Kwara North’s effective and equitable representation in the Government House by 2027, while ensuring that Moro receives its fair share of the four elective positions (Governor, Senator, and two House of Representatives seats). We advocate for a transparent sharing formula that does not marginalize Moro, but rather promotes inclusivity and equal opportunity for all communities.

The Moro Communities fully support the Governorship Project for Kwara North in 2027. We urge all stakeholders from Kwara central, kwara south to join us in demanding justice and equality for Kwara North in the forthcoming elections. We can forge a path towards a brighter future for our communities said (Mall. Muhammed Shehu)

Comrade Nura Muhammed said in his statement that, Moro Agenda team stands resolute in ensuring Moro’s adequate representation in the 2027 elections. We as well call on stakeholders from five Local Government that constitute kwara North Senetorial District, including community leaders, religious leaders, politicians in respective of your party affiliation, and citizens, to support this noble cause for Moro agenda. Together, let us champion fairness, equity, and the rightful redistribution of political power.
