Kwara Online Media Receives Tech Boost from Hon, Lekan Gadaff
Hon. Sulaiman Lekan Gadaff, a former Kwara State Governor’s aide and youth advocate, has donated gadgets to online media practitioners in the state. The presentation ceremony took place at Golden Sand Hotel, Ilorin, on Friday.
Gadaff’s aim, according to his address, is to empower online media platforms and enhance their ability to deliver news effectively. He emphasized his ongoing support for the media, referencing a similar donation of laptops in 2021.
“This initiative complements Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s media-friendly approach,” Gadaff stated. He commended the Governor’s establishment of two new radio stations (one in Kwara North) and his efforts to modernize KwaraTV’s broadcasting equipment.
The beneficiaries included online platforms Just Event Online, FactualTimes, SATCOM Media, Prudentwatch, Newscresent, and OIC Update.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the recipients, FactualTimes’ Managing Editor, Oyewale Oyelola, praised Gadaff’s generosity. He described the gesture as “exciting and heartwarming,” highlighting Gadaff’s recognition of the media’s value. Oyelola concluded by offering his well wishes for Gadaff’s continued success.
Additionally Newscrescent online publisher Abdullateef Togun also expressed gratitude to Hon, Lekan Gadaff for his generosity and urges him to keep doing more not as a politician but as youth friendly individual.
This donation strengthens Kwara’s online media landscape, potentially improving news coverage and information dissemination within the state.
