Kwara United set to Adopt new Stadium for CAF Confederation Cup
Kwara United will adopt the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos as their home ground for the 2022/2023 CAF Confederations Cup.
The Harmony Boys were drawn to play AS Douanes of Niger Republic in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup Championship, and the winner of that fixture will face the defending champions, RS Berkane of Morocco.
The first preliminary rounds will be played on home and away basis, with Kwara United hosting the first leg between 09 – 11 September 2022. The second leg will hold between 16 – 18 September 2022.
Clubs from 56 African countries will be participating in the competition, which will be the 20th edition of Africa’s secondary club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), under the current CAF Confederation Cup title after the merger of CAF Cup and African Cup Winners’ Cup.
The second preliminary Round will hold between 07 – 9 October (First leg), and – 14 – 16 October (Second leg), 2022
Unlike the last 3 previous seasons, the final of this edition will be played in a two-legged format.
The winners will automatically qualify for the 2023–24 CAF Confederation Cup, and also earn the right to play against the winners of the 2022–23 CAF Champions League in the 2023 CAF Super Cup.
