LaLiga has racism problem, entire Valencia were racists – Ancelotti cries out over Vinicius
Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has lashed out at La Liga officials, saying that the match against Valencia ought to have been called off after Vinicius Jr. was subjected to racial epithets.
The Italian claimed that La Liga has a significant issue and has chosen not to address it head-on.
The Brazil international was subjected to racial taunts by Valencia supporters during Sunday night’s La Liga match between the two sides. The player was eventually dismissed after a fight between the players.
The great Ancelotti questioned how the game could continue despite the Brazilian receiving abuse from the opposing team’s supporters.
“They ought to have stopped the game right then. No one individual did it. The entire stadium was in a frenzy,” he said reporters after Real Madrid suffered a 1-0 defeat.
I had never before seen a whole stadium being racist. Maybe I’ve seen a few people being racist, but I had never seen that from a whole stadium.
“The atmosphere was racist. This was unacceptable. This league has a racism problem.”
