LaLiga: Spanish FA rescrinds Vinicius’ red card, bans Valencia

Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid was awarded a red card during the 1-0 loss to Valentia on Sunday, but that decision has been overturned.
Following the racial taunts thrown at the Real Madrid star during the game, La Liga also punished Valencia with a partial stadium ban.
At the Mestalla, Vinicius was subjected to derogatory chants and gestures from the home crowd. The 22-year-old tried to call the referee’s attention to the crowd and was subsequently sent off in the 97th minute of play after a confrontation with Valencia striker Hugo Duro.
On Tuesday, the Spanish FA [RFEF] said that the red card had been overturned.
Five games will also see the closure of the Mario Kempes Stand at the Mestalla. A €45,000 punishment will also be paid by the club.
“In response to the incidents that occurred during the home team’s Primera División National League Championship game against Real Madrid CF, the Committee has sanctioned Valencia CF with the partial closure of the Mestalla stadium for five matches, more specifically of the south stand Mario Kempes.
Valencia was also given a 45,000 euro financial penalty, according to the FA statement.
