MOK Foundation Bridges the Digital Divide: Beneficiaries Shine After Tech Training

The Foundation for Community Development (MOK Foundation) continues to make significant strides in empowering individuals through technology. On April 23, 2023, we reported on their initiative to sponsor ten beneficiaries for tech training at the One Innovation Hub (ONEIH) in Offa, Kwara State. Today, we celebrate a major milestone – the successful completion of their two-month intensive program!

These dedicated individuals have spent the past months immersed in a rigorous training environment under the guidance of tech experts. Their journey culminated in the presentation of their final projects, showcasing their newfound skills in User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design.

Four of the ten beneficiaries stepped forward today, their confidence evident as they presented their UI/UX design projects under the watchful eyes of tech experts. Each presentation emphasized the individual’s unique abilities and creative approach.

Abdul Rasheed Hassan Opeyemi captured the audience’s attention with “Superway Grocery Store,” an online platform designed to revolutionize grocery shopping. His presentation resonated with the tech experts, earning him thunderous applause.
Abdulsalam Quadri Oluwafemi presented “Formulation Compass,” a project that bridges the gap between product design and application development for agro-chemical companies.
Bello Bashira Olajumoke’s innovative project, “PharmBissy Tech,” focused on creating a user-friendly online platform for pharmaceutical companies.
Balogun Aisha Tinuola showcased “Hotel Booking.Ng,” an online portal designed to streamline the hotel booking experience.
These projects represent just a glimpse of the incredible talent nurtured by the program. From online restaurant booking apps and recipe platforms to digital literacy projects and online pharmaceutical solutions, the beneficiaries demonstrated a remarkable ability to think creatively and translate their skills into practical solutions across various industries.

The successful completion of this program is a testament to both the beneficiaries’ dedication and the MOK Foundation’s unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide. Equipping individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital age is crucial for community development, and the MOK Foundation understands this imperative.

Speaking on behalf of the MOK Foundation, Mr. Ademola delivered a message of encouragement to the beneficiaries. He emphasized the invaluable opportunity they received and urged them to “leverage this in the tech world… keep on trying and the sky won’t stop you.”

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the MOK Foundation founder, Alhani Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, for providing them with this transformative experience. They pledged to utilize their newfound skills positively and requested continued support in their future endeavors.

As the tech industry continues its rapid evolution, the demand for skilled professionals capable of designing and developing innovative solutions is skyrocketing. The leadership of ONEIH commended the MOK Foundation for nurturing a new generation of tech experts who are poised to make their mark on the world.

The MOK Foundation’s initiative serves as a beacon of hope, not only for the beneficiaries who have gained valuable skills, but for the entire community. It demonstrates the immense potential of technology to drive growth, foster innovation, and create positive change. We look forward to witnessing the continued success of these inspiring individuals as they embark on their exciting journeys in the ever-expanding world of technology.
