Nine Bauchi Motorcyclists Disappear in Plateau, Families Seek Answers

Nine young men from Bauchi State, Nigeria, travelling to Nasarawa State for motorcycle work, have vanished in Plateau State, sparking fear and confusion among their families.
The nine, all commercial motorcyclists known as “Yan Achaba,” reportedly left Kirfi Local Government Area on Saturday but never reached their destination, Lafia. Their families haven’t heard from them since, intensifying their worries.
“There has been no communication with them for three days,” confirmed Kirfi’s caretaker chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, highlighting the urgency of finding the missing men.
The families paint a concerning picture. They claim their sons were stopped by security personnel near Jos due to a rerun election. The officers allegedly instructed them to rest at a gas station overnight before proceeding. However, all contact ceased by 6 pm, and their phones have been unreachable for days.
Desperate for answers, the families have approached security agencies and authorities, pleading for assistance in locating their loved ones. Their prayers and hope now rest on a swift and thorough investigation.
This incident raises vital questions:
What happened to the nine young men after their encounter with security personnel?
Are there any leads or insights into their whereabouts?
What measures are being taken to locate them swiftly and safely?
As the days pass, the families’ anxieties grow. Transparent communication and a dedicated search effort are crucial to bringing closure and, hopefully, a safe return for the missing men.
