Olympic: German Team lend Nigerian cyclist bicycle for track event

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, the German cycling team showed Nigerian racer Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye some love and support in a touching demonstration of sportsmanship.
Unexpectedly called up to compete in the sprint and keirin events, Ukpeseraye had a significant obstacle when she failed to bring her bicycle.
Ukpeseraye shared her difficult experience and showed her thanks on social media.
She disclosed that she had not received a bicycle from Team Nigeria in time for the competitions in a post on X.
“I had no bicycle to race on the tracks with due to the short notice of me competing at the keirin and sprint, #teamNigeria,” the woman wrote.
She was helped by the German team, who offered her one of their bicycles so she could take part.
“In the spirit of sportsmanship, the German team @bunddeutscherradfahr came to my rescue by offering me a bicycle,” Ukpeseraye wrote in her thank-you note. I’m grateful 🙌
Being the first cyclist from Nigeria to represent the nation in the Olympics, Ukpeseraye created history.
