Op-Ed Why always godfather(Barrister Rufai Ahmed) by Temitope Muideen Convydence

At exactly 8 pm last Saturday, I received a call from a female friend, She begged to know the reason why I refused to pick up her calls between the hours of 4 pm-7 pm. I told her I was at a birthday party of my friends, sponsored by Kwara youths godfather, she shouted godfather again!! I said yes.
godfather’s name is not new to her ears, she knows about his contributions towards the growth and success of Play With Kwara Youths, She was equally aware of the personal things the man has done for me behind closed doors. She finally asked, “WHY ALWAYS HIM?” I don’t know him but may Allah continue to bless and enrich him. We talked and the conversation ended, but my reflection didn’t stop.
A few months ago, a friend told me how a problem caught him unaware, he explained his troubles and how godfather took responsibility for solving the problems, he is rare and unrepeatable were my concluding words. Last month, in a short conversation with another friend about politics, governance, and the politicians in Kwara state, he said “I am waiting for a day godfather will declare to contest elective post, even if my life will be at risk for supporting him I will risk it, this is the only way I can repay him back” I smiled and we both prayed for him again, may the sun not set untimely.
E. C. LaMeeaux of GAIAM described generous people as idealists. They have a certain image of the way the world should be, and strive to achieve that end. Although the world is not a perfect place, these people do not stop giving their time, energy, or money. As optimists, they see the world in a different light than others. They truly believe that the world, although not perfect, can be made into a much better place, Barrister Rufai is a member of THE GENEROUS PEOPLE CLUB.
When you think of Barrister Rufai’s generosity, energy is one of the first things that come to mind. This individual devotes his energy to the good that he want to do. He also gains energy from his cause. You will agree with me that the unity we enjoy among ourselves as Kwara Youths today, Barrister Rufai was the architect, and bringing all of us together timely has been one of his greatest human relation weapons. When he spent his time working on a goal, the more the youths responded, he his revitalized and energized to do even more good.
After the event last Saturday, a friend called and we discussed it, he was wondering why godfather’s generosity knows no limit, I told him that Barrister Rufai helps without hope of receiving compensation for his good deeds. Personal gain may occur, but it is not a motivating factor for his generosity, he is altruistic. In conclusion just like my 8 p.m. caller, he asked “But why always godfather?” If you ask me who I go ask was response, we both prayed for him just like everyone at the event. May the sun not set untimely.
