Oyetola’s permanent secretaries will be fired by Adeleke, on Monday according to a spokesperson

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the incoming governor of Osun State, has threatened to remove the 30 permanent secretaries that Gboyega Oyetola appointed on Thursday by Monday, according to Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
After being sworn in as the state’s new governor on Sunday, Adeleke declared he would dismiss Oyetola’s newly appointed permanent secretaries on Monday.
While Adeleke was scheduled to take office as governor on November 27, Oyetola had authorized the appointment of 30 top government officers as permanent secretaries on Thursday, November 24.
In response to the appointment, Adeleke promised that the new civil workers will be fired by Monday in a statement released by his spokeswoman, Rasheed.
Any coordinating director who accepts a permanent secretary job from departing Governor Gboyega Oyetola will leave the organisations, the statement said.
The statement said: “Senator Ademola Adeleke, the next governor of Osun State, has issued a warning to any coordinating director who accepts an appointment as permanent secretary from outgoing Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
“The governor-elect confirmed that making such last-minute selections demonstrated the directors’ readiness to leave the state service.
“We want to make it clear in the records that anyone accepting an appointment should be prepared to leave the company whether or not their service term has reached the statutory retirement age. The incumbents will be regarded as political appointees who will automatically leave the public service on November 28 along with the departing Governor.
However, those who still want to work for the Osun State government should reject the Greek offer.
The incoming governor stated that making such appointments at this late date demonstrated the directors’ readiness to leave the state service.
“We want to make it clear in the records that anyone accepting an appointment should be prepared to leave the company whether or not their service term has reached the statutory retirement age. The incumbents will be regarded as political appointees who will automatically leave the public service on November 28 along with the departing Governor.
“At the same time, those who still choose to work for the Osun State government should refuse the departing Governor’s Greek gift.
We declare that no kangaroo permanent secretary will be fired from their position under any circumstances.
