Oyo policewoman is charged with killing a house maid
A policewoman named simply as Omolola is accused of killing a woman’s 14-year-old daughter, Tomiwa Ajayi, by Yemisi Jimoh of Benin.
Jimoh, who resides in Ogun State, was previously married when the victim was born.
PUNCH According to Metro, the woman gave her daughter to Kehinde Ojo, the wife of her younger brother.
Ojo, a seamstress, is reported to have driven Ajayi to Omolola’s residence in Ibadan, Oyo State’s General Gas neighborhood.
According to reports, the policewoman promised to help the adolescent acquire a trade while she served as her housekeeper.
The mother of the kid claimed that once Omolola also pledged to care for her daughter, she agreed to the arrangement.
Jimoh, however, said that her body was returned with scars less than ten months after the 14-year-old had left their home alive.
“In February 2022, my sister-in-law Kehinde Ojo, who married my brother Fatai, told me that a woman in Ibadan named Omolara, who worked with the police, wanted a female to take care of her infant and her house as well,” the woman recalled.
“I agreed, but I made clear to her that I wasn’t looking for payment; all I wanted was for the family to support my efforts to mentor her in either academics or fashion design.
“Ojo called the lady who wanted my girl (Omolola); we spoke, and she accepted the terms I provided her.
My daughter left my home in February 2022, and last Friday, Omolola—whom I have never met but who I know through my sister-in-law—sent me her brutalized body.
My daughter was in my thoughts a few days prior, and when I called to talk with her through Ojo, Omolara’s telephone was either busy or switched off.
Ojo verified taking the victim to the policewoman’s home when she spoke to our journalist.
