Policeman Shoots Lawyer Dead On Christmas Day In Lagos

Unspeakable events led to the shooting and death of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer, by a police officer in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ajah.
According to reports, the lawyer, her sister, and four kids were driving away from a restaurant in their car at around 11 am when a police officer tried to pull them over but instead fired at the driver.
Sources said that the police officer, who was accompanied by a group of police officers, shot the woman as she attempted to do a U-turn beneath the Ajah Bridge and then fled the scene.
After being taken to the hospital in a hurry, the woman was declared dead.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, confirmed the occurrence and called it regrettable and avoidable.
He did, however, clarify that the affected officer had been detained and is being questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry.
He wrote: “Unfortunate and avoidable incident that was. The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation.
