QATAR 2022: Piers Morgan believes Bruno Fernandes’ goal vs Uruguay should have been awarded to Cristiano Ronaldo
British Journalist Piers Morgan has revealed that Bruno Fernandes’ first goal for Portugal national team in their remarkable 2-0 victory over Uruguay national team supposed to have been given to Cristiano Ronaldo, because the former Real Madrid star touched the ball.
The five times Ballon D’or award winner was given another starting role by coach Fernando Santos, following his outstanding performance for the team in their first game against Ghana and he was able to perform excellently in the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal’s attack alongside Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix and the trio were superb in the entertaining encounter.
Bruno Fernandes gave Portugal national team the lead in the 54th minute and he scored the second goal of the game in the 90th minute via a penalty kick to end the match 2-0.
The reshow showed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s head touched the ball before it scored (the first goal) and Piers Morgan said the goal supposed to have been awarded to Cristiano Ronaldo instead of Bruno Fernandes.
Reacting after Portugal national team’s first goal was awarded to Bruno Fernandes, Piers Morgan posted on his verified Twitter handle that;
“Ronaldo touched that ball. He should be awarded the goal.”
