Nigerian media magnate Raymond Dokpesi was recently released after being briefly held at London’s Heathrow Airport.
After landing on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt, the founder and former chairman of Daar Communications was reportedly detained by immigration on Sunday. He wasn’t precisely sure why he was being held.
According to information obtained by Nairametrics, Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), invited Dopkesi to London.
Before other passengers descended from the aircraft, the Nigerian media mogul who serves as the deputy director-general of the technology and systems division of Abubakar’s presidential campaign council was welcomed off. After that, he was detained by airport and immigration officials until his passport was stamped and he was allowed to enter the nation.
