Reps extend resumption date to Jan 30

The House of Representatives has announced an extension of its ongoing recess, with the return of members now set for Tuesday, January 30.
reports that the 2024 Appropriations Bill was passed by the National Assembly on December 30, 2023, and that the date of the assembly’s next meeting was set for January 23, 2024.
However, in response to an official correspondence from the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, the members have an extra week to resume, according to a statement released on Sunday by the House spokesman, Akin Rotimi.
I have been instructed to notify members that the Senate and House of Representatives will now reconvene on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11 a.m. instead of the previously planned Tuesday, January 23, 2024. We apologize for any difficulties, the message said.
