Super Eagles’ Coach Peseiro Receives Three-Months’ Salary

The Nigeria Football Federation, Jose Peseiro’s employer, has given him a three-month salary (NFF).

The Portuguese, who were hired last May, agreed to a one-year performance-based deal with the federation, apparently paying a salary of $70,000 per month.

However, a reliable source close to the Portuguese, who was seen on Sunday in the Doha, Qatar, 2022 World Cup environment, told our correspondent that the manager of the national team had received three months’ pay.

By the way, the NFF has paid Peseiro’s salary for three months, according to a coach confidant who requested anonymity last night.

Interestingly, there were some rumors at the beginning of last month that the former Al Ahly of Egypt coach could be forced to leave his position with the Super Eagles because of unpaid salaries.

It was this circumstance that compelled NFF General Secretary Dr. Sanusi Muhammed to issue a warning, stating that Super Eagle Head Coach Peseiro was “performing his job” and “had not reported the NFF to FIFA with regard to his remuneration.”

Our source continued, “I can genuinely affirm that Peseiro has been paid.”

According to Soccernet.ng, Peseiro, 62, reportedly uploaded photos of himself in a number of stadium stands to his Instagram account while he is in Qatar for the World Cup.

In the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Super Eagles have only managed two victories under Peseiro, including victories of 10-0 over Sao Tome and Principe and 2-1 over Sierra, but have lost four international friendlies against Mexico, Ecuador, Algeria, Costa Rica, and Portugal.
